About Me

The picture I used is from my service later on Governor's Island in 1976.

I served on the Sherman as a Fireman out of "Sunny" Cape May, NJ Boot Camp and reported to the ship in 1972 while it was stationed in Boston. Went on several Ocean Station Bravo trips, and one trip to GITMO. I was in the Engineering group. I worked with Rat, Saint, lot's of nicknames then and was often called BJ. We called our First Class Supervior Fred (as in Fred Flintstone....yeah that is right) His real name was Norman Lidstone. We did have some fun and some serious things happen. I'll spare you the sea stories for now, but will be glad to relate if you want sometime.

I served with you and I remember Norman Lidstone and your right he look Like Fred Flintstone. He was a good guy. I went to work in the DC and made DC3 later. I wish I was smart and wrote down my shipmated names.

Yes the Sherman Tour / visit is "To be Determined" and the cost will be covered hopefully by the registration fee if it isn't to expensive to get a bus .. a lot of unknowns right now .. as you can imagine we are totally dependent on the Sherman Command and certainly at the bottom of their list of priorities. I hope to hear some details/expectations soon from our Sherman liaison!

I talked to our treasurer today about sending out receipts to all the crew members that have registered. I do get a spread sheet from our treasurer every couple weeks and a spreadsheet from the Holiday Inn each week .. I can send you a copy of your infomation in the meantime if you like?
